TAP-A-POST: YOUR TERMS This is the copy that applies to your order: version 1.1, in force from 19 September 2026. Keep it. If we change our terms later, these are still the ones you bought under. TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE ========================== Tap-A-Post, version 1.1, in force from 19 September 2026 These are the terms you buy under. They are written to be read, not to be got past. 1. Who we are ------------- Tap-A-Post is a trading name of Norbert Bercsenyi, a sole trader established in Scotland. Trading address: 1/3, 19 Victoria Road, Glasgow, G42 7AB, Scotland, United Kingdom Email: hello@tapapost.co.uk VAT: Not currently VAT registered. The price you see is the price you pay. 2. These terms -------------- These terms apply to every order placed through our website. By placing an order you accept them. We send a full copy with your order confirmation, so you always have the version you agreed to. We may change these terms. **The terms that apply to your order are the ones in force when you placed it.** That is why the copy we email you is the copy that counts. This version is 1.1, in force from 19 September 2026. 3. Who can order ---------------- You must be **18 or over** to place an order. Our products are made as gifts for children, but they are bought by adults, and there are no accounts for children anywhere on this site. Where a product is for a child, you confirm at checkout that you are their parent or guardian, or are sending with permission. 4. What we sell --------------- Printed letters and cards carrying a wax seal with an NFC tag under it. Tapping the seal with a phone opens a page holding personalised content, usually a voice message you recorded. **What you need for the seal to work:** a phone with NFC switched on and an internet connection. Most phones made since about 2015 will do it. **Every piece also carries a printed QR code** to the same address, so the content is reachable without NFC at all. Product photographs and descriptions are illustrative. Paper is a natural material and slight variation in shade, texture and visible fibre between batches is normal. It is a characteristic of the stock, not a defect. 5. How an order is placed ------------------------- In this order, because it is the order that gets the best result: * You choose a product and answer its questions. * **You record your message in your browser, on this site.** We do not accept audio by email. * You pay. Payment is taken at that point, on Stripe's own page. * We print it, seal it, check it and post it. You may also pay first and record afterwards, and nothing stops you, but nothing can be printed until there is a recording, because a sealed envelope that plays silence is not the product. See section 6 for what that means for timing. **Your order is accepted when we email you to say it has been posted**, not when payment is taken. If we cannot fulfil it we will tell you promptly and refund you in full. We may refuse or cancel an order where the details you give are unlawful, offensive, infringe someone else's rights, or where we reasonably believe the order is fraudulent. 6. Timing, in one paragraph --------------------------- **The dispatch clock starts when your recording is finished and paid for, whichever of those two happens last.** If you pay on Monday and record on Thursday, production starts Thursday. We will email to remind you if you have not recorded. The full timings are in our Delivery & Dispatch policy. 7. The details you give us are yours to check --------------------------------------------- **Check the spelling before you pay.** We print exactly what you type. We do not correct spelling, capitalisation or grammar in a name, because we cannot tell an unusual spelling from a mistake, and getting that wrong is worse than printing what you wrote. If you spot an error, write to hello@tapapost.co.uk straight away. **We will fix it free of charge if we have not printed yet.** Your order page shows you which stage it has reached. Once it is printed, an error in the details you supplied is not something we can refund. See our Cancellation, Returns & Refunds policy. 8. Your recording ----------------- You confirm that you have the right to make and share the recording, and that it contains nothing unlawful or offensive. **You keep ownership of your recording.** You give us only the permission we need to store it and play it back through your own product, for the lifespan in section 10. We do not use it for anything else, and we never use it in marketing. We listen to recordings as part of our own production check before printing. We may refuse to publish one that is unlawful or offensive, and will refund you if we do. If a recording is taken down after posting, the page shows that it has been removed. It never quietly plays something else instead. 9. Price and payment -------------------- Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. UK delivery is included in the price shown unless the page says otherwise. **We post to UK addresses only.** Payment is processed by Stripe. We are the merchant of record. We never receive or store your card number. **Discount codes** are typed on Stripe's payment page, no more than 1 per order. A code has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be added to an order after it has been paid for. A refund is of what you actually paid, after the code. If a price is obviously wrong and the error is one you could reasonably have spotted, we may cancel and refund rather than supply at that price. 10. How long the seal keeps working ----------------------------------- **The content behind the seal will stay available for at least 5 years from the day we post it.** We intend to keep it there longer, but we will not promise what we cannot control. If we ever withdraw the service we will give you at least **90 days' notice** by email, and a download of your recording so you keep it permanently. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a reduction in price. 11. Your legal rights --------------------- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the goods we supply must be **of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described**. If they are not, you have rights to a repair, a replacement or a refund. 12. Our liability ----------------- We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability for an order is limited to what you paid for it, and we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made. **We are not liable for delays outside our control:** postal disruption, industrial action, severe weather, supplier failure. If one happens we will contact you, and if the delay is substantial you may cancel and be refunded in full. 13. Complaints -------------- Write to hello@tapapost.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge within **2 working days** and to resolve within **14 days**. If we cannot, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme, or take the matter to court. 14. Governing law ----------------- These terms are governed by the law of **Scotland**, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- DELIVERY & DISPATCH =================== Tap-A-Post, version 1.1, in force from 19 September 2026 The document that answers “when will it arrive”. It is honest about production time rather than optimistic, because December is not the month to discover the difference. 1. Everything is made to order ------------------------------ Nothing is pre-printed on a shelf. Every letter is made individually after you order, because every one is personalised. **Production time is real, and it is separate from postal time.** 2. When the clock starts ------------------------ **The dispatch clock starts when your recording is finished and paid for, whichever of those two happens last.** Most people record before they pay, so for most orders the clock starts at payment. If you pay first and record on Thursday, it starts on Thursday. We will email to remind you if you have not recorded, and your order page shows what it is waiting for. 3. Production time ------------------ **3 working days.** Monday to Friday, excluding Scottish bank holidays. That covers printing the letter, writing and checking the tag, sealing it by hand and getting it into the post. We print in-house, so there is no third party in the middle of it. 4. Postal time -------------- We post by Royal Mail, UK addresses only, as a Large Letter. Second class (included): Royal Mail aims for 2–3 working days First class (paid upgrade): Royal Mail aims for the next working day Those are **Royal Mail's aims, not guarantees**. Royal Mail does not treat an item as lost until **10 working days** after the due delivery date, and we cannot open a claim before then. 5. Total time to expect ----------------------- Second class: about 5–6 working days from the clock starting First class: about 4 working days from the clock starting **Order early.** These are typical times, not promises, and December is the worst month in the postal year. 6. Christmas last order dates ----------------------------- Early December (1–7 Dec): order by **26 Nov** second class, or **1 Dec** first class Mid December (8–16 Dec): order by **5 Dec** second class, or **9 Dec** first class Just before Christmas (17–22 Dec): order by **11 Dec** second class, or **15 Dec** first class Still provisional: Royal Mail publishes its 2026 Christmas dates in the autumn. Ours are our own arithmetic until then, and we will move them here the day theirs are out. A date presented as certain and then moved is worse than one presented as provisional and then fixed. These are the dates the shop shows you when you choose when it should land, because they come from the same place: they cannot say one thing here and another there. Orders placed after the last date will still be made and posted, but **we cannot promise they arrive before Christmas**, and the site will say so plainly rather than quietly taking an order it cannot deliver. **Remember the recording.** If you order on the last date and do not record for two days, you have missed the window, because the clock starts at the recording. 7. If something goes wrong -------------------------- * **Not arrived?** Write to hello@tapapost.co.uk. Once 10 working days have passed since the due date we will remake it or refund you. * **Damaged in the post?** Send us a photograph within 14 days of delivery and we will replace it free of charge. * **Wrong address given?** We post to the address you give us. If it is wrong and the item comes back to us we will repost it at your cost. If it does not come back, we cannot replace it free of charge. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- CANCELLATION, RETURNS & REFUNDS =============================== Tap-A-Post, version 1.1, in force from 19 September 2026 The short version is in the first two lines, and the rest is the detail behind them. 1. The short version -------------------- **Our products are personalised, so the usual 14-day right to change your mind does not apply.** That is a specific exception in consumer law for goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, and we tell you before you pay rather than afterwards. **It does not affect your rights if something is wrong with the product.** Those are in section 4 and cannot be excluded. 2. Cancelling before we print ----------------------------- **You can cancel and be refunded in full at any time before we start production.** Your order page shows the stage it has reached; anything before Printing can still be stopped. Write to hello@tapapost.co.uk with your order reference. If we have not printed, you get a full refund. 3. Why the 14-day right does not apply -------------------------------------- Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the right to cancel a distance contract does not apply to goods **made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised**. Every piece we make carries a particular child's first name and the details you supplied, and is tied to a tag that plays your own voice. It cannot be sold to anyone else. That is why the exception applies, and it is the only reason we rely on it. 4. What you are entitled to regardless -------------------------------------- If any of these is true you get a **free replacement or a full refund**, and none of it is affected by section 1: * The product is faulty, damaged or defective. * It does not match what we described. * **We made a mistake in the personalisation:** what is printed does not match what you gave us. * The content behind the seal does not work and we cannot fix it. * It never arrives. Write to hello@tapapost.co.uk with your order reference and, where it helps, a photograph. 5. What is not covered ---------------------- * **Spelling or detail errors in what you gave us.** We print exactly what you type. * **A recording that is hard to hear because of how it was made,** such as background noise, or a phone held too far away. That is not a fault in the product. Write to us anyway: we would far rather help than argue about it, and you can re-record at any time before we print. * **Natural variation in paper shade, texture and fibre**, which is a characteristic of the stock. * Royal Mail delays, where the item does eventually arrive. 6. How refunds are made ----------------------- Back to the card you paid with, within **14 days** of us agreeing the refund. We do not usually ask you to send a faulty personalised item back, because we cannot sell it to anyone else. A photograph is normally enough.
